Review of Stella Maxwell x Marella Fall 2025 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Donald Schneider with Photographer Zoey Grossman with model Stella Maxwell
Marella has tapped world-famous top model Stella Maxwell as co-designer for its Fall 2025 capsule collection, marking one of the brand’s most high-profile collaborations to date. Centered on Marella’s hero piece, the blazer, the collection reimagines tailoring with contemporary edge, pairing sharp cuts with leather outerwear, flowing dresses, and the newly minted “Stella The Star” bag.
Shot by Zoey Grossman in Los Angeles, the campaign places Maxwell against the backdrop of the Hollywood Roosevelt and Sunset Boulevard—symbols of old-school glamour reinterpreted with modern irreverence. It’s a fitting stage for a capsule built on contrasts: cropped corseted blazers meet oversized trenches, while sheer lace slips play off chunky boots or leopard sneakers. The palette stays rooted in power hues—black, burgundy, neutral leather—underscoring a collection made to move easily from daytime street to night-time allure.
The collaboration launches online at Marella.com September 15, ahead of a London Fashion Week event at Nikita private club on September 17, and rolls out globally in select stores from September 18. For Marella, the move is both a product and distribution play, with the Max Mara Group brand accelerating expansion into Europe, the U.S., and the Middle East while preparing to open its first standalone UK store in Marylebone this fall.
Behind the scenes, the real architect is Creative Director Donald Schneider, who also directed the campaign’s video. Long a master of high-profile brand collaborations—from H&M’s mega crossovers to luxury tie-ins—Schneider brings his knack for fusing celebrity, fashion, and storytelling into a campaign that makes Marella feel globally resonant. His team, including art director Bianca Forsblom and set director Valentin Florian, lean into cinematic glamour with a slick polish, while Maxwell herself embodies the energy of a model-turned-designer staking her claim in a more creative role.
While the campaign’s imagery relies heavily on Maxwell’s star power, the bigger narrative is Marella’s ambition: to assert itself not only as a contemporary offshoot of the Max Mara Group but as a brand able to carry global cultural weight. With Schneider’s hand and Maxwell’s visibility, Marella has found a clever way to frame a blazer capsule as something closer to a fashion moment than a simple product drop.
